The Queen: The Real Millenium Celebration
By the fire while drinking tea, we watch the television broadcast of the annual Christmas message of Queen Elizabeth II. She declares that the real reason for a millennium celebration is the 2000th anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ.
She presents a remarkably forthright testimony of her personal faith in Christ.
As we pray at Epworth Chapel on the Green, "We beseech You also to govern all leaders of government, that under them we may be godly and quietly governed: and grant unto all that are put in authority under them, that they may truly and indifferently administer justice, to the punishment of wickedness and vice, and to freedom for your holy religion and the maintenance of virtue.
"Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer."
